Spring Break

Spring break has always been a love-hate relationship for me. I have never been able to travel for spring break because of baseball, and having games during the break. The only issue is we never got the games in because of things like rain, snow or cold weather. Last year we had 5 games scheduled and only played 2 of them, one being in pouring rain, and the other being in snow. So as much as I have loved spring break in the past, I have also had some not fun times during it. It never felt like a break, it just felt like a small time off of school.

This year I am able to experience a warm spring break. I am going down to Mesa Arizona, to be able to catch a world baseball classic game and spring training game. They have not played the world baseball classic since 2017, so I am excited to be able to see something somewhat rare. The USA will be playing Canada so I hope that the game is competitive and the USA comes out on top. Spring training is something that has been on my bucket list for a while now, as a baseball fan spring training is a unique experience you want to do at least once. Being able to catch a Cubs game is a plus to this luxury. Going back to the warm weather, it will be an adjustment. It will be nice to have warm weather, but the only negative I have is that when I come back, it will be that much colder here. So there is a positive and a negative to it.

All in all I am excited to be able to use this break as an actual break. This will be my first time to be able to do so, hopefully it lives up to the hype it always gets. As long as team USA and the Cubs win, it will be a trip worth having, and if they don’t at least the weather will be nice.
