Spring is upon us! It seems that out of nowhere we have gone from 20 degrees and freezing temperatures, to 70 degrees and warmth. It snowed just a couple of weeks ago and now we have humid and warm days constantly. This is enjoyable for many reasons, the first reason is that we are no longer freezing when we are walking to class. It's very difficult sometimes when we have an 8 am class and it is snowing or there are freezing winds whipping in our faces. Not only does it make us cold but it kills our motivation to learn and go to class. When it's warm out I am more eager and energized to start my day. When the temperatures are freezing and snowy, I never want to get out of bed, let alone walk all the way to class.
Another main reason I am happy is because I am now able to get outside and golf. I have been able to go out to practice at the course everyday of the week, and not be absolutely miserable the entire time. I played a few rounds this past week in shorts, if you told me that a few weeks ago I would think that you were crazy. With being able to get out to golf, it also means that we are able to begin competing in our season, and fine tune our games as much as we can. It's just been really nice to not have to hit into a net, and to actually go out and play 18. Along with golf, baseball has begun as well, so I am able to go to Cubs games again. This will start the six month span of baseball that is to come, and I can not be more excited. Constant entertainment along with college baseball going on as well.
Finally, the best part of the weather getting warmer, school ending. Although this year has gone by very fast compared to other years, I am excited the year is coming to a close. I am ready to just work, enjoy the heat, and hang out with friends at home. Most of my friends went away, so having them back in town is going to be awesome. This being said, the spring and warmth is a sign to me that the excitement is building for summer.
